Training Contract

You can expect to have contact with clients from day one, and we will offer you as much responsibility as you can handle. All our junior lawyers have frequent contact with clients, and you will be no exception. Supervision will come from the individual partners that you are working for, and our Training Principal, who will oversee your progress during your training contract, will always be on hand to offer advice and support.

Our training contract ensures that you will have access to a broad spread of work right from the start. Key to success during your two years of training with us will be the ability to quickly build strong relationships with your colleagues, both in London and further afield. For an example of our programme in action, visit our Diary of a Trainee page and Secondment in Doha page.

We expect our trainees to spend the majority of their time in the office as we believe it's key to learning and development although there will be opportunity for some remote working from time to time.

Support

The office has access to a range of training sessions, including in-house training that we offer here in London. We also have access
to third party training providers, and you will be encouraged to learn and develop as much as you can. Of course, much of your
training will be of the best kind: the knowledge, built up over years of practice, which our partners and senior lawyers will be only
too happy to share with you.

During your training contract there could be opportunity, depending on interest, for a secondment to one of our other offices
overseas and also to a client. This is aimed at ensuring you have experience of different approaches to the practice of law.

Trainee Work

We expect our trainee solicitors to become fully integrated within each team they work with to offer the personalised,
innovative solutions we are widely recognised for. Typical trainee work will include research projects for our clients, attending
client meetings, and preparing a wide range of legal documentation. On occasion, if appropriate, our trainees will handle
smaller matters from start to finish.

Engage and Integrate

Our trainees are encouraged to join various committees, including DE&I, WLI, and social committees, fostering integration through numerous social events throughout the year. We are also passionate about making a positive impact in our communities. Through volunteering and pro-bono programmes, our trainees and solicitors contribute their skills and time to support charitable and not-for-profit organisations.

Salary & Benefits

We offer trainees a salary of £48,500 in their first year, rising to £52,000 in their second year, plus a discretionary bonus. Salary on qualification is presently £105,000 plus a generous bonus scheme. Benefits include: pension, health insurance, life assurance, income protection, dental insurance, cycle to work scheme, 25 days' holiday.
